New in Recast: Insights API is Here

We’re continuing to ship APIs at Recast.

A few weeks ago we shipped programmatic access to our Planning and Optimization tools, and today we’re going further by opening up the Insights tab. It’s the homepage of Recast, where teams dig into channel performance, period comparisons, model diagnostics, and much more.

Now everything in the Insights dashboard is available via API.

The new Reporter endpoints let you create any report from the Recast app and fetch the results programmatically. That means you can build the analyses you care about directly into your own workflows, run them on your own schedule, and skip logging in to do work that can run on its own.

This is part of a broader push we’re making to put more of Recast’s tools and flexibility directly in the hands of our customers. The platform is where most teams will continue to do their day-to-day work – but for the workflows that need to run automatically, scale across many reports, or integrate with the systems your team already uses, API access changes what’s possible.

What’s available now: Insights API

Create any Insights report programmatically, including:

  • Channel-level contribution
  • Spend summaries
  • Period comparisons
  • Model fit metrics
  • Spend response curves
  • Share-of-spend vs. share-of-effect
  • ROI waterfalls
  • Fixed-spend performance
  • Backtest results

… and much more. Every report available in the Insights tab is now callable via API. You can also retrieve reports with their status, and download report results as CSVs that are ready to pipe into your own workflows.

What this unlocks

These APIs aren’t just a different way to do what you already do in the Insights tab. They open up entirely new workflows that break beyond the bounds of a dashboard UI. You can:

  • Pipe channel insights into your internal dashboards on a schedule
  • Trigger period-over-period comparisons automatically after each budget cycle
  • Feed Recast-generated spend response curves directly into your budget planning tools
  • Run bulk analyses across multiple date ranges or scenarios in a single script
  • Pull backtest results and model fit diagnostics into your own monitoring stack
  • Build custom reporting for stakeholders who need outputs formatted their way, on their cadence

What’s next

This is the second wave of API releases at Recast, and there is much more coming. We’re continuing to expand programmatic access across the full set of Recast tools, with the long-term goal of making every capability in the platform callable, scriptable, and composable.

If you have specific analyses or workflows you’d like to see supported, we want to hear about them. The Recast Insights API is available now for all Recast customers.
